Contact types and mailing lists
Adding contact types to your system will allow you to assign roles to your students. For example, if you want to create a mailing list for competition teams, or boys only, this feature will enable you to do that. Once you set up your contact type, it will appear in as a field in your contacts information. If you check that role for your contact, you will be able to run special reports. You will be able to export all the contacts in that group into an excel spread sheet for targeted email purposes.
